Welcome,

Nam Sen Studio is nestled amidst a delicate low desert landscape and breathtaking panoramic mountain views in the Sulphur Springs Valley of Southern Arizona. The studio offerings are designed to support the exploration and cultivation of health, harmony and community. We look forward to welcoming you one day soon!

Awen

My name is Awen. I began Nam Sen Studio with my partner Hanh in order for us to share some of our favorite things in life with others. I have always enjoyed learning about the way the world works and observing the cycles and patterns found throughout nature. This lifelong endeavor has helped me come to cherish what makes each of us unique while being humbled by the thread of commonality found running through us all.

After many years of following a fascination toward Asian culture, the healing arts and the way the human body works, I am now sharing Asian Bodywork Therapy by offering sessions at Nam Sen Studio.

I enjoy travel and exploration and find my most profound memories are those of sitting in a quiet temple or sharing tea and a simple meal with local villagers. Perhaps, it is some of these experiences that have inspired me to choose a lifestyle that is close to nature, and why I am always excited to share the simple pleasures of life with others.

Hanh

My name is Hanh. I love tea and the benefit that it brings to life. I grew up with tea, the Vietnamese villager kind of tea – fresh picked leaves and branches, roughly massaged and put in a big pot, with some fresh ginger, and voila! a refreshing drink is prepared to enjoy all day.

I became interested in the culture and art of fine tea while studying in Yunnan, China. I have been enjoying all forms of tea ever since and remain open to continue learning and sharing tea and all its many joys with others.

My greatest joy, however, is to create and nurture loving spaces to welcome others so that they feel at home. I will be delighted to welcome you to Nam Sen Studio, to join us for a cup of tea in a Meditative Tea Sit, or to prepare tea and treats for you when you come for a visit.

About the Studio

Nam Sen, meaning “southern lotus,” began as a teahouse in downtown Bisbee, Arizona and has evolved into its current form as Nam Sen Studio. The studio was inspired by the desire to create a safe and private space where men and women from all walks of life can gather over a cup of tea to share in the bounties of life and the joys of simple living.

Founded in the private, the studio serves as a hub for open interactions between all men and women who agree to share the space and their own gifts.

Located about 14 miles outside of Old Bisbee, 1.6 miles down a well-maintained dirt road, the studio sits in a quiet desert setting with stunning views of the Sky Island mountains and delicate desert beauty.

Eco-conscious and sustainably minded, many of the structures are built using natural building techniques and native or locally sourced materials. Though the facilities are modest, they are designed to be suitable spaces for healing, meditation, tea sits, stargazing and celebration.

The studio is not just a group of structures, it is the land, the sky, and all the living things residing here that make the space what it is. Aside from residents and staff, the land is also the native habitat of many desert creatures that you may encounter during your visit.
