Asian Bodywork Therapy
This massage & bodywork session is a holistic wellness treatment guided by the wisdom of Oriental Medicine. Great for relaxation or relief from pain, tension and discomfort. Sessions can also provide deep and lasting results by helping to encourage the fundamental substances of the body (qi, blood, lymphatic fluids) to flow more freely.
Sessions include:
- 15 minute initial intake (first session only)
- a brief diagnosis of the pulse, tongue and abdomen
- a range of techniques including: massage, acupressure, assisted stretching, rocking, tapping and joint mobility movements
- adjunct therapies where indicated: cupping, moxibustion, and tuning fork therapy
- herbal tea will be available to help you rehydrate after the session

Choose from one of two different offerings: Amma Therapy or Shiatsu
Amma Therapy
Utilizing gentle rocking and vibrational techniques, Amma is particularly useful for relaxation, stress relief and emotional calming. During a session, circular digital pressure is used to stimulate specific points along the body’s energetic meridians. Sessions take place on a traditional massage table and touch is administered directly to the skin without oil or lotion. The receiver will be safely draped underneath a sheet throughout the session.

Shiatsu
The principle of a shiatsu treatment is to rebalance an individual’s physical and energetic system. Sessions can be very effective at treating pain, injuries as well as internal imbalances. The technique is characterized by steady, penetrating pressure combined with gentle stretches and joint mobility movements. Sessions take place on a Japanese style floor mat with the receiver fully clothed (*loose fitting, or flexible, comfortable clothing is recommended).
